Blue Dart, South Asia's largest integrated air express, courier and logistics company has announced the launch of an upgraded version of Mobile DartTM, a unique SMS-based service that enables customers to track their shipments via SMS from anywhere in the country.

This value-added service requires no registration. Customers can avail of this service by messaging their air waybill number, and an automated response provides the current status of their package. An SMS will also elicit an automated delivery advice once the shipment is delivered.

Announcing the launch of this service, Malcolm Monteiro, Chief Operating Officer, Blue Dart Express Ltd said, "Blue Dart has, since inception, used advanced technology to provide the Indian customer a competitive edge with globally-benchmarked technology tools developed in-house. The launch of this new SMS based service, as an industry first is another step in this direction. This service provides greater convenience and control to the customer, keeping in mind his increased mobility and demand for real-time information".

Commenting on the Gujarat market, he said, "Gujarat is an important, emerging market for us at Blue Dart.
