Bombardier will be displaying its new C series regional aircraft Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen at the upcoming Paris Air Show. Bombardier said in a press release that it has already received orders for its regional aircraft from Libyan Airlines of Libya and Air Independence of Germany.
Bombardier will have a static display of its CRJ900 NextGen at the Paris airshow. The aircraft will be among the five aircraft that Bombardier is bringing to the Paris Air Show. Recently, one of these was delivered to Northwest Airlines.
Libyan Airlines has signed a firm order for three Bombardier CRJ900 regional jets. The airlines has also kept options for two more aircraft. Though the order was announced last week, Bombarider dd not reveal the idenitity of the customer till now. The contract value for the three Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen firm-ordered aircraft is estimated at around $108 million. Libyan Airlines flies to 27 destinations in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Libyan Airlines chairman Tarek Arbi described the order as part of the airline's fleet improval progarm. The Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen aircraft will be deployed on domestic and regional routes.
Other airline customers for Bombardier's regional CRJ jets include Arik Air, Libyan Airlines, Adria Airways, Air Nostrum, Air One, Atlasjet Airlines, Lufthansa CityLine, MAT Macedonian Airlines, My Way Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Mesa Air Group, Northwest Airlines, SkyWest Airlines, Tatarstan Airlines in Russia.
“We are delighted to have Libyan Airlines as our newest customer for the Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft, said Steven Ridolfi, President, Bombardier Regional Aircraft. “We have every confidence that Libyan Airlines will enjoy the same success with this aircraft as other operators have done.”
Meanwhile, Germany's Air Independence has also placed a firm order for three widebody Challenger 605 business jets from Bombardier. Combined, the Libyan Airlines and Air Independence orders will fetch Bombardier $190 million. Air Independence will base the jets at Munich in Germany.

Air Independence already flies Challenger 604 Challenger 800 fom Bombardier. The Challenger 605 aircraft will join the Air Independence fleet upon entry into service.
The CRJ900 NextGen regional jet cabin will have a a two-class configuration with 76 seats. The aircraft is equipped with LED lighting, enlarged passenger windows and larger bins to accommodate the stowage of more carry-on baggage. Other aircraft from Bombardier at the Paris Airshow include:
Bombardier Learjet 45 XR: The eight- to nine-passenger Learjet 45 XR aircraft flies faster, farther and with more passengers than any other super-light business jet. The Learjet aircraft can fly approximately 2,000 nautical miles (3,717 km) with eight passengers, two crew and full fuel(i).
Bombardier Global 5000: The Bombardier Global 5000 can connect Berlin-Washington non-stop with twelve passengers. It sports state-of-the-art high-speed Internet connectivity and entertainment options.
Bombardier Q400: The Q400 airliner provides jet-like speed and outstanding cabin comfort. Seven years after entering revenue service, the Q400 fleet has exceeded 1,000,000 flying hours.
Bombardier Challenger 605: On-board features include a Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite and an Ethernet-based Cabin Electronic System. It can fly eight passengers from Paris-New-York and London-Delhi non-stop.
