The hijack of the Indian Airlines plane IC-814 by Pakistan-based terrorists in December 1999 has once again drawn the attention of the world on Pakistan and neighbouring Afghanistan.
The bizarre incident also exposed serious flaws in the airport security of Nepal and brought about wide ranging reforms to Indian civil aircraft security.
