After hard times early in the decade, Canada's aerospace industry is bouncing back, fueled by soaring global demand for business jets, helicopters and aircraft components, according to the Conference Board of Canada.
The aerospace industry, which was weakening in the late 1990s, took a nosedive after the terrorist attacks Sept. 11, 2001, which put a damper on air-travel. But with the International Air Transport Association forecasting a five to six per cent jump in air travel in 2007-2008, it seems the 9/11 slump is over. As a result, demand for aircraft is increasing.
