Training for staff in airlines, banks, call centers,
hospitality sector

Maureen Wadia, better known as the woman behind many of the glamourous
faces in the modeling world, is betting big on training for the
hospitality industry. Wadia is to set up a training school - The
Maureen Wadia Institute – to provide train employees for the airline
sector.
The Wadia family owns Indian low-cost airline GoAir. Maureen's son Jeh
Wadia is the MD of the company.
According to a report in DNA, The institute will begin its
courses in Mumbai on March 15, and the curriculum would also be
tailored to suit the needs of other industries in the hospitality
sector, like hotels, banks and call centers, among others.
Classes with commence with a first batch of 200 students, with
students being trained to become air-hostesses and stewardesses. The
institute will also look at training personnel for ground duties,
including flag class duties and to man check-in counters among others.
According to Wadia, the idea is to teach communication skills required
in the sunrise industries and train personnel to grab the
opportunities in these sectors, especially for the hospitality sector.
The Institute will also provide placement for students, with Go Air, a
low-cost carrier launched by her son, Jeh Wadia, and with other
airlines and corporates.
