Jet Airways has opened an online facility to track missing baggage. If
your baggage is untraceable, contact Jet Airways airport office, who
will provide you with a 10-character reference number. This number can
be used to locate the baggage. Visit the Jet Airways website section
on products and services for details.
Jet Airways said in a press release that it is the first Indian Indian
airline to have such a facility.
To make use of the facility, travelers should keep a copy of the
missing baggage report given to them. If the baggage is untraceable
for seven days, a questionnaire will be sent out to the passenger
which will help widen the search, Jet Airways said.
Missing baggage is a constant headache for frequent air travelers.
Last week, Air Deccan passengers had a harrowing time when 35
travelers reported missing baggage, which did not land even hours
after their flight reached Mumbai from Bangalore.
