AIR DECCAN DELAYS

I am sorry: Captain Gopinath

Air Deccan chief apologises for delays

BY A CORRESPONDENT
May 13, 2006

Air Deccan chief says that he is sorry for the delays faced by passengers on his airline. The Air Deccan chief had to face angry questions from journalists, who had turned up to report on Air Deccan's upcoming IPO.

"The problem faced by the passengers is unpardonable and I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience," said Captain Gopinath.

However, Captain Gopinath tried to the blame the problem on poor airport infrastructure and poaching by rival airlines. He did not explain the point of "poor service" which was brought up by many journalists, who were themselves travellers in Air Deccan.

According to Warwick Brady, COO of Air Deccan, passenger ire is nothing specific to India - he narrated instances where passengers had held airports to ransom.
