Employees in state-owned airlines are planning to form a new union to
take on the government. Nearly 20 staff unions are currently planning
to join the new union.
Union leader Nitin Jadhav said: "All the employee unions of the Indian
civil aviation industry will come under one common umbrella."
The new union has asked private airline employees to join the union
including employees of Air Sahara. The Jet Airways employees have
already formed their own union and are asking for Left Front's help.
The new union will have 20,000 employees from various airlines. Some
have already raised voices against the new union saying that the
airline sector which is growing at a whopping 20% will suffer from the
formation of newly-formed union.
