Jeh Wadia, MD of Go Air has already indicated his intention to expand
fleet. Indian airlines had made an impact at the Paris Air Show last
year, with upcoming airline IndiGo placing an order for 100 Airbus
planes. Kingfisher too had made an order for the Airbus superjumo
aircraft.
Indian airlines have been on an expansion spree, adding planes and
services. Air Deccan has already announced an ambitious plan to buy
112 Airbus planes across nine years. Air India recently placed a
massive order for 68 aircraft with Boeing. Airlines big and small are
all expanding fleet in a booming market. It is expected that the
Singapore Air Show will provide a platform for many more airlines to
place orders.
