JETSTAR SINGAPORE BANGALORE FLIGHT

Jetstar Asia starts Singapore-Bangalore flights

Singapore’s value-for-money airline has landed in tech city

BY A CORRESPONDENT
JANUARY 24, 2006

Jetstar Asia has started services to Bangalore from Monday, marking the Singapore-based airline's foray into Karnataka. The brand new Airbus A320 touched down this morning at Bangalore’s International Airport.

Jetstar Asia flights between Bangalore and Singapore will be every Monday, Wednesday Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Departure from Bangalore will be at 3:35 am arriving at Singapore’s Changi Airport at 10.25 am the same morning. The flight from Singapore departs at 1:05 am arriving in Bangalore at 2:45 am.

Everyday, low fares will start from Rs 6000, with ticket sales available via the website at www.jetstarAsia.com, through the Jetstar Asia office on (080) 3989 2233, or local travel agents.

“We’re delighted to be flying to Bangalore, and if our forward bookings suggest anything, then so are our passengers,” said Mr Neil Thompson, Acting CEO for Jetstar Asia.

“Being the first value for money carrier between Southeast Asia and Bangalore, we’re keen to tap into a combination of SME business travellers and the growing tourist trade that’s coming from India to Singapore and onwards,” Mr Thompson said.

“We are also confident that we’ll not only be able to take market share, but also tap into the latent demand that exists in the market. The prices for airfares between Bangalore and Singapore have been too high, for too long,” he said.

Hot food, snacks and beverages along with duty free items may be purchased on board.

Jetstar Asia is a Singapore-based airline that currently flies to multiple destinations within five hours of Singapore, including Bangalore, Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kolkata, Manila, Phuket, Yangon and Taipei. It is a majority Singapore owned company, with a significant Qantas shareholding, ensuring the highest standards of operational excellence and safety standards, while delivering real value to customers.
