Lufthansa's Hyderabad-Frankfurt daily non-stop flights

More destinations to be added in eastern and western India

BY A CORRESPONDENT
April 1, 2006

Lufthansa Airlines has started a daily non-stop flight between Hyderabad and Frankfurt, increasing the total number of flights operated between India and Germany to 42 per week. Lufthansa has also announced special flight fares between the destinations, with ticket bookings open till April 30, 2005.

For travel to Europe, including Germany and UK, Lufthansa Airlines tickets are priced at Rs 19,900, while the same to Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco will cost around Rs 38,000.

The airline has also introduced FlyNet, infilght internet connectivity, and PrivateBed, a business class seat with in-flight experience on this sector.

"Lufthansa's flight on the Hyderabad-Frankfurt sector has been well received since launch in February last year. The high-seat load factor on this route has been the key reason for us to more than double our capacity in this sector," Lufthansa German Airlines general manager Werner Heesen said.

Lufthansa Airlines is also exploring the possibility of adding new destinations in the western and eastern region of India. A decision on this was expected to take within the next 4-5 weeks.

Lufthansa currently operates 42 flights out of India per week; twice daily flights from Delhi to Frankfurt and Munich, and once daily flight to Frankfurt from Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
