Emirates has kicked off its cargo services Emirates Skycargo to
Thiruvananthapuram from February 1. This is expected to boost the
trade between India and its trading partners in the Middle East,
Europe and the US. This is the Emirates Skycargo's second division in
Kerala.
The Dubai-based airline is to operate eight weekly flights using a
combination of Airbus A330-200 and Boeing 777-200 aircraft. It will
also improve services to Cochin with two additional weekly flights to
make it daily.
The current four weekly flights to Chennai will be increased to eight.
It is expected to help serve the cargo communities in all three cities
in South India better. Emirates Skycargo will now offer around 135
tonnes of belly-hold capacity every week to Thiruvananthapuram and
Chennai each and 120 tonnes to Cochin.
