Emirates starts Dubai-Kolkata flights
Kolkata is Emirates' second Indian destination to be added this
year

Leading Gulf airline Emirates has kicked off its Dubai-Kolkata flights
on March 26. The Dubai-headquartered premium airline already has 54
flights to India. According to the airline, the Kolkata fight is part
of Emirates' plan to add eight new destinations in 2006.
Emirates non-stop Dubai-Kolkta flights will fly six times a week to
Kokata from Dubai. As an introductory offer, tickets will be available
for economy class at Rs 15,000, business class at 35,000 and first
class at Rs 43,000. These low ticket fares will be valid till October
31.
Emirates EK 548 flight will be using Airbus 330-200 planes to fly to
Kolkata. Emirates hopes that the new flight to Kolkata will help boost
business and investment in the local economies.
With the addition of Kolkata to its map, Emirates now fies to seven
Indian cities with 63 flights a week. Emirates recently launched
flights to Kerala capital of Trivandrum in January. In October, the
airline is planning flights to Bangalore.
On March 27, Emirates also added Addis Ababa to its route network.
