Low-cost airline Air Deccan will operate daily schedules in the Chennai -Tuticorin and Hyderabad -Rajamundry routes from April 1. Bookings have been started for flights between April one and May 31. In the Hyderabad -Rajamundry route, a 72-seater ATR 72-500 would be deployed. Air Deccan would be the first airline to launch flights to Rajamundry.

Rajamundry, a place of historic and religious significance, had never been connected by scheduled airlines. The Chennai -Tuticourin flight will take off from Chennai at 0915 hours and reach Tuticorin at 1115 hours. It would leave Tuticorin at 1130 hours and arrive at Chennai at 1255 hrs. The Hyderabad -Rajamundry flight will leave Hyderabad at 0930 hrs and reach Rajamundry at 1040hrs. On the return leg, it would leave Rajamundry at 1100hrs and reach Hyderabad at 1235hrs.
