Air Deccan defers Delhi-Patna flight launch
BY A CORRESPONDENT
May 25, 2006
Air Deccan has deferred the launch of its Delhi-Patna flights by a
fortnight. Deccan was to start flights from the first of June. Reports
said that Air Deccan is yet to receive the 180-seater Airbus A320
aircraft which it had hoped to deploy in this route.
The Air Deccan Delhi-Patna flight was a twice daily flight. the first
flight would leave Delhi at 0615 hours and return before noon, while
the other would start in the evening at 1700 hours and return to Delhi
by 2210 hours.
Air Deccan has offered its aggrieved passengers the option to travel
on a different date with the same ticket. Else, they can cancel their
tickets and get a full refund. But for many passengers who had booked
their Air Deccan tickets in the busy vacation season, the postponement
means their travel plans going haywire.
Air Deccan already has flights to Patna from Kolkata. Earlier, Air
Deccan had to defer the launch of its flights to Trivandrum, since the
aircraft had not landed in time.
