An Air India Express aircraft from Muscat skidded off the runway while landing at the Cochin International Airport near Nedumbassery in North Kerala. All 61 passengers and crew, including an infant were safe.
Following the incident, the runway was closed for some time. The SILK Air flight from Singapore which was on way its way to Kochi landed late.
The flight was on its way to Kochi from Muscat via Trivandrum. According to reports, the left engine and nose wheel of the Air India Express aircraft were damaged.
